When Your Child Needs Additional Therapies for Autism 

There may be times when your family needs specialized services along with applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. As your child grows, their needs may change. We will work with you to create a plan that supports your family. 

At Trellis, ABA therapy is the foundation of our programs. We help children with autism build confidence, gain independence, and develop skills for daily life. Parents and caregivers are a child’s most important teachers. We partner with you to create an environment where your child can succeed. 

Some children benefit from working with additional professionals, such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists. These specialists teach skills that support and strengthen what your child learns in ABA therapy. 

We design each child’s program with their family in mind. An occupational therapist may help your child learn how to get dressed, use utensils, or brush their teeth. A speech therapist may teach communication skills with gestures or picture boards.

Occupational Therapy Our occupational therapists help children with developmental delays and disabilities learn to perform activities of daily living, such as eating, dressing, and playing with friends. We’ll focus on play skills, learning strategies, and self-care as part of our multidisciplinary approach to your child’s program.

Speech and Language Therapy Speech and language development are the foundation for communication skills. It’s also a crucial part of social interactions and academic success. Our speech and language therapists address your child’s unique needs by evaluating their oral motor strength and movement. Our therapists may also suggest using visual support, such as picture cues or other communication tools.
