Our passionate and talented team shares a common interest: to help your child make progress every day.
HOW WE
HELP
Contemporary applied behavior analysis (ABA) is at the core of everything we do. We offer a full suite of personalized ABA services, ranging from assessment and diagnostics to home-, community-, and center-based intervention programs designed exclusively for your child and family. Our services include:
Home
We work with your child 1:1 in your home for a prescribed number of hours a week. Targeting goals specified in your child’s personalized plan, we integrate ABA treatment into your typical family routine. Home sessions are naturalistic and can focus on several skills sets, like social, communication, and play, or target a specific skill like toilet training or grooming.
Learning Center
Our Learning Centers offer ABA services delivered 1:1 with a trained behavior interventionist at least 25 hours a week. Located in Sparks, Forest Hill, and Perry Hall, our state-of-the-art Learning Centers feature classrooms, a sensory gym, and thousands of square feet of a natural learning environment. Here, your child can gain the experience of a classroom-like setting, while benefitting from our unique play-based learning spaces.
Community
Our ABA services can take place in your family’s community and include trips to the park, grocery store, or anywhere else life takes you. The goal, here, is to work toward your child’s treatment goals in and around your own community.
Early Intervention
Early intervention is the key to building a foundation for positive long-term outcomes and a better understanding of a child’s unique approach to learning. Our early intervention program provides 1:1 services to children between the ages of 18 months and five years. Using the Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB) methodology, we work with your child to build foundational communication skills through child-led, teacher-directed, play-based, and social activities aligned with your personalized treatment plan.
Speech/Language Therapy
Also part of a multidisciplinary approach, our speech and language therapy uses an ABA approach to help your child develop as a communicator. In 1:1 or group sessions, offered to children undergoing ABA therapy in our Sparks and Perry Hall Learning Centers, we work on such skills as articulation, phonology, apraxia, fluency, and receptive and expressive language.
teleABA Services
teleABA offers your family an effective alternative to in-person services by providing ABA therapy via your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Through a secure and easy-to-set-up virtual meeting, your BCBA can deliver direct therapy and parent consultation remotely, helping your child learn new skills, avoid regression, and continue to make great strides. Evaluations and Diagnostics
We specialize in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the administration of several standardized assessment measures, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), the gold standard for ASD diagnosis. If you suspect your child has ASD, our licensed psychologist can provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations. Watch our video, “Walking You Through the Diagnostic Path from Beginning to End.”
The Trellis School
Located in Sparks, Maryland, the Trellis School is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)-approved and Maryland Association of Nonpublic Special Education Facilities (MANSEF)-affiliated, non-public preschool, elementary, middle, and high school for children in pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Using the principles of ABA, we build strong foundational communication, learner readiness, and academic, social, and play skills in learners with autism and other language-related disorders. WAIVER
SERVICES
Caring for a child with autism can challenge and, at times, overwhelm, a family. The Maryland Autism Waiver provides invaluable support for families affected by autism.
The Maryland State Autism Waiver is a state- and federally-funded program that provides home-and community-based instructional services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The waiver was designed to help keep your child safe at home and in their community, improve the lives of your family members, and provide quality services that enable your child to develop independence, build skills, and reduce negative behaviors.
