Helping your child with autism reach their
full potential through ABA.
For more than 20 years, Trellis has helped thousands of children with autism find success in school and life.
Our services in and around Forest Hill are led by Suzanne Heid and her team of compassionate, highly-trained clinicians. We offer center-based and in-home ABA therapy for children ages 2-6.
Trellis is a part of LEARN Behavioral.
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is at the core of everything we do. We offer a full suite of ABA services, ranging from assessment and diagnostics to home-, community-, and center -based intervention programs exclusively for your child and family. Our services include:
Our Learning Centers offer ABA services delivered 1:1 with a trained behavior interventionist at least 25 hours a week. Located in Sparks, Columbia, Perry Hall, and Forest Hill, our state-of-the-art Learning Centers feature classrooms, a sensory gym, and thousands of square feet of a natural learning environment. Here, your child can gain the experience of a classroom-like setting, while benefitting from our unique play-based learning spaces.
We work with your child 1:1 in your home for a prescribed number of hours a week. Targeting goals specified in your child’s personalized plan, we integrate ABA treatment into your typical family routine. Home sessions are naturalistic and can focus on several skills sets, like social, communication, and play, or target a specific skill like toilet training or grooming.
Our ABA services can take place in your family’s community and include trips to the park, grocery store, or anywhere else life takes you. The goal, here, is to work toward your child’s treatment goals in and around your own community.
Early intervention is the key to building a foundation for positive long-term outcomes and better understanding a child’s unique approach to learning. Our early intervention program provides 1:1 services to children between the ages of 18 months and five years. Using the Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB) methodology, we work with your child to build foundational communication skills through child-led, teacher-directed play-based and social activities aligned with your personalized treatment plan.
Also part of a multidisciplinary approach, our speech and language therapy uses an ABA approach to help your child develop as a communicator. In 1:1 or group sessions, offered to children undergoing ABA therapy in our Hunt Valley and Perry Hall Learning Centers, we work on such skills as articulation, phonology, apraxia, fluency, and receptive and expressive language.
teleABA offers your family an effective alternative to in-person services by providing ABA therapy via your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Through a secure and easy-to-set-up virtual meeting, your BCBA can deliver direct therapy and parent consultation remotely, helping your child learn new skills, avoid regression, and continue to make great strides. Evaluations and Diagnostics
We specialize in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the administration of several standardized assessment measures, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), the gold standard for ASD diagnosis. If you suspect your child has ASD, our licensed psychologist can provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations. Watch our video, “Walking You Through the Diagnostic Path from Beginning to End.”.
Autism affects the whole family. At Trellis, our family counseling provides ongoing support to you and your family, while serving as an integral part of your child’s treatment plan. Our counseling team creates goals based on your family’s unique needs, such as guidance on a particular teaching strategy and behavioral technique, and gives you tips and tools to help you succeed.
